Buy modul - Price 60€ (net) additional 19% Vat. (digistore24)
Mandatory for B2C starting 19th June 2026 for EU Onlinestores
Based on EU Directive (EU) 2023/2673, it is required that contracts (an order constitutes a sales contract) can be easily cancelled. To this end, a cancellation button must be displayed to the customer to initiate the cancellation process.
You can find detailed information on the legal aspects at eRecht24.de (article), Trusted Shops (article), or IT-Recht Kanzlei (article), for example. We are "only" developers and cannot provide legal advice. Please check if your store meet your local legal requirements with help of our modul. If you spot legal or technical issues feel free to contact us and we hopefully can provide a version which fixes it.
What are the features of the modul?
3 Minute Video - Functions of the Modul
The features of the withdrawal modul
The core feature is a new section that displays an order overview and allows the cancellation process to be initiated. Once the cancellation is initiated, both the customer and the shop operator receive an email notification. The cancellation is recorded in a new table within the shop, where it is visible to the administrator.
This new section for initiating a cancellation can be accessed in two ways: via a "withdrawal" button in the "My Account" area or through a form (intended primarily for guest orders).
1. New Button inside of “My Order” of Customer Account
For logged-in customers, options for cancellation are provided in the "My Account" area under "Orders."
Following Screenshot shows the German Storeview but there is EN and lot of other EU based languages already integrated in the modul.

However, this new button can also be disabled via the configuration in the admin area. Additionally, the desired display duration (X days from the order date) can be set. We value offering shop operators a high degree of flexibility.
2. New Form “Find order for cancellation” – Also for guest orders
The second option is a new "order lookup form." This allows an order to be located using the order number and email address (for guest orders). Additionally, there is an optional "direct cancellation" feature that enables a cancellation to be submitted without any prior verification.
This form can be made accessible via a link—for example, in the footer, in emails, or in other areas of the shop. The URL can be managed using redirect rules (see the documentation for details).

3. Submit Withdrawal request
In this overview (see the next screenshot), the customer can view the order and information regarding the deadline for cancellation. The customer can then initiate the cancellation using the button. Upon final confirmation, both the customer and the shop operator receive an email confirming the cancellation request

4. Adminarea - Liste of requests & (internal) note about order

The cancellation itself is recorded in a Magento database table, which admin users can access via the admin panel.
A note regarding the cancellation has also been added to the order section of the admin panel. Additionally, it is possible to navigate directly from the list of cancellations to the corresponding order.
Based on the received cancellation, the shop operator can—or must—initiate the subsequent steps. If you see any opportunities or requirements for automation here, please feel free to contact us.
If extensions or customizations to our module would be helpful to you in this regard, we would greatly appreciate your feedback, ideas, etc.

5. Withdrawal without validation (based on german law)

Due to the current legal situation (in Germany), it appears that, in our understanding, it is NOT permitted to validate whether the customer is actually a customer or whether the order even exists. It seems that everything simply has to be accepted initially.
Therefore, we have added a section for "direct submission." There, orders can be placed without any validation or further verification.
