Why did we develop the KonVis Error Logging modul?

First step to avoid errors is to be aware of bugs. Lot of bugs and the errors inside a magento store are undetected. In bigger stores this is a constant pain. Often clients do not inform the storeowner about the bugs/errors. Bugs show up and might be undetected until logs files are checked. This is kind of a problem. It would be much easier if storeowner (without developer) can regularly check if errors showing up or not. Than they could be analyzed and solved much earlier.

This module solves this issue. It allows none developer easily to keep an eye on possible problems. If errors/Bugs are spotted it can be started to check them in more detail.

The functions

The core function of the module is to log the errors of a magento store into the database. The errors are logged and shown in a easy to understand admin interface.

The module catches all errors from 2 sources:

• notifications visible in the frontend (these with a red background) created using Magento\Framework\Message\ManagerInterface
• error and critical logs created using Psr\Log\LoggerInterface, the same that are logged to exception.log or system.log

The file path is taken from the stack trace. The Customer data is loaded from the current session.
URL means the URL that was accessed when the error was thrown. The Module name is loaded by the file path.

When the customer id or email is empty, it means it wasn't possible to load the customer, or it was a guest user.

The listing is added at Reports > Error Monitoring > Listing. I think this is the best place for that kind of tool. The configuration is available at Stores > Configuration > Konvis > Error Monitoring.
